Enchanting
Tales for
Quizzical Kids

Inspired by birds, family, and the timeless joy of a story well told, Jim Roethe’s new children’s book began where many of the best stories do: with grandchildren asking for one more tale.

First imagined aloud in London, these stories bring together animals, birds, poetry humor, and gentle life lessons for young readers and the adults who read with them.

Enchanting Tales

A new collection of bird-filled stories for children.

Jim Roethe’s latest book features twelve original stories created for his grandchildren.

Each tale includes a bird, a cast of memorable animals, and a small moral woven through the adventure.

Part fables, part read-aloud collections, and part invitation into the natural world, the book is designed for ages 4–10 and for parents, grandparents, teachers, and caregivers who still believe in the power of a good story.

Why Birds?

For Jim, birds have long been companions on walks, travels, golf courses, and quiet mornings.

When his grandchildren asked for new stories, they chose the animals.

Jim added the birds.

The result is a collection that gently encourages children to notice the living world around them, from the ordinary backyard bird to the surprising creature that captures a child’s imagination.

For Readers

For children, parents, grandparents, and bird lovers.

These stories were made to be read aloud, shared across generations, and returned to again.

They are for children who love animals, grandparents who love storytelling, parents looking for something thoughtful and warm, and readers of any age who still find wonder in birds, nature, and imagination.
